•Why can’t we use the force of an explosion against itself?

On a hot, steamy August morning,  Greenhill AntiBallistics’ co-founder stood sweating on a crowded, dirty, barely ventilated subway platform looking at “The Big Black Bomb Container,” which to everyone else was a garbage bin.

A former CIA case officer, he thought: “we’re all going to die...”

He began to think operationally:

•How do you stop a crazy with a bomb?
Likely there is  a Deadman's switch and, if the crazy goes up, so do we.
•How can we make that bomb ineffective?
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
